Afternoon Tea by the Sea – a Hotel Miramar Experience
The great British tradition of taking afternoon tea dates back as far as the 1840’s, but in the past few years has seen a resurgence in popularity.
Hotel Miramar, located on Bournemouth’s beautiful East Cliff has recently launched a new Afternoon Tea by the Sea menu, featuring a selection of scrumptious afternoon delights.
Of course, the ideal is to enjoy the experience sitting at the Ocean Bar & Terrace where you can enjoy the splendid sea views, and soak up the ambience of a summer garden.
With the British weather being such as it is guests are enjoying the experience indoors more often than not so far this summer.
Afternoon Tea by the Sea consists of tea or coffee (with a selection of 12 different teas to choose from) and a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches including ham, cucumber, prawn and smoked salmon. Then it’s on to the sweet indulgences with delicious homemade scones, jam and cream followed by a selection of dainty tea pastries.
At just £24.50 for two guests, this tempting treat represents excellent value and is an affordable luxury to spoil yourself not just on special occasions.
Other options include the Champagne Tea by the Sea at £38.50 for two, or the Wimbledon Tea by the Sea at £34.50 for two – served with Pimms.
Hotel Director David Bailey said, “Afternoon tea is a lovely English tradition and one which we are pleased to uphold. Taking tea has become very fashionable again and is a great treat with friends, family or even work colleagues. We often see people pop by and host a business meeting whilst enjoying afternoon tea. Why not?”
Afternoon tea is served 7 days a week. Reservations are advisable on 01202 556 581.
